Meet the StandApp AI Assistant
Ask questions across your own material. Trace a bit's evolution, bring back old tags, or tighten a Set before your next gig.

In this fictional example, the comedian asks: “Find something in my older sets worth bringing back.” The illustrated Assistant response reads: “Your self-checkout bit had a tag that disappeared in later sets: ‘Apparently I need adult supervision to buy a banana.’ It appears in the October recording, but not the November version. Want to compare them?” Two example links are labeled “October open mic” and “November club set”. The conversation and material are invented for this illustration, not a transcript of a real interaction.
You've got material spread across recordings from different gigs. Different versions of a bit, tags you stopped doing, ideas you meant to revisit.
Ask questions across that material instead of digging through each recording yourself.
What you can do with the Assistant
Track a bit's evolution
Ask the Assistant to compare earlier performances and what changed.
Compare my last two Sets. The thing I changed was the opener.
Rediscover older material
Dig into older Sets for forgotten lines, dropped tags, or ideas worth another go.
Find lines from my older Sets worth bringing back, about my family.
Prepare your next set
Put together a set from your material, whatever length the spot is.
Build me a set from my best material. It's for a 10-minute showcase.
Follow your curiosity
These are just examples, not a menu of commands. Ask open-ended questions too: explore an unexpected connection, test an angle, or take the conversation somewhere new.
The suggestions in the app only start a question. Finish it in your own words. The more you say about what you're after, the more the Assistant has to work with.
Work on one Set
Open a Set and go to its Workshop tab. Ask the Assistant to help you tighten it for a shorter spot, expand the part that has more in it, punch up a bit, or give you honest notes.
Help me tighten this Set so it fits a spot of 5 minutes. I don't want to lose the closer.
Ask for a review when you upload
Switch on Assistant review when you upload and tell it what to look at, like "Was the new closer worth keeping?" When the analysis is ready, the answer is waiting in a chat on the Set page. It comes out of your Assistant credit like any other reply.
Your material. Not AI-written jokes.
This isn't about having AI write your act. The interesting part is giving it access to your own material: helping you find connections, ask better questions, and brainstorm where you might take an idea.
The Assistant works from your uploaded sets, transcripts, and recorded audience reactions. You bring the ideas and decide what's worth trying on stage.
Privacy and model training
StandApp's requests to AI providers ask them not to train on your Assistant prompts and responses. Providers may still retain data under their policies. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Usage and pricing
You can try a few messages free. After that, usage comes out of your Assistant credit. Each reply's cost depends on how much material the Assistant reads, how long its answer is, and the intelligence level you choose. See Usage & billing for current options and your balance.
